NYT has added that the GPT series by OpenAI has somehow trained to even track down the paid content by the News Publishers. Which has resulted in a decrease of 40% of their paid subscription holders.

On the other hand, OpenAI wasn’t even expecting this news to happen all in the current chaos. But as per the reports the company is in contact with 14 plus media companies in order to negotiate.

This negotiation shows that OpenAI is all set to pay the price to solve the legal allegations as soon as possible.

Lately, OpenAI is offering between 1 Million USD to 5 Million USD every year. This way they aim to get copyrighted news and blog posts licensed, which they have accommodated to train their LLMs.

Has Apple Inc. also contracted with News Publishers?

As we all know, that Apple is also working on its Generative AI and Siri 2.0. For such reason, they also require eligible content to train their AI models. However to avoid legal issues, they have already planned to invest more than 50 Million USD to deal with News Publishers.

The reason to invest such a big amount is that they want to conduct content usage more openly and authoritatively. And the report says that Apple has already started dealing with NBC News and Conde Nast.
